Urinary Issues and Candida

Frequent urination and difficulty holding urine is a problem that affects many individuals, but these issues do not often show up in exams or blood tests. Treating these issues with medications such as antibiotics or anti-viral treatments doesn’t seem to alleviate the symptoms.

The Connection between Urinary Issues and Candida

In studying patients with frequent urination and other symptoms researchers found a connection to Candida albicans, which was often found coexisting with the troubling symptoms.

Candida and Caprylic Acid

In a study conducted by the Heart Disease Research Foundation one specific treatment showed promise. Caprylic acid was used either orally or topically, and the symptoms reduced significantly. Aside from caprylic acid the study used an interesting mixture of ingredients. The “cocktail” used in this study did contain amaxicillin, an antibiotic which will actually increase the chance of Candida overgrowth, but the other ingredients were surprising: Omega-3 fish oil was used for it’s anti-viral efficiency, and a cilantro tablet.
