Candida and Caprylic acid

In a study conducted by the Heart Disease Research Foundation on Candida’s presence amidst other symptoms such as urinary problems, bacteria in a root canal, one specific treatment showed promise. Caprylic acid was used either orally or topically, and the symptoms reduced significantly. A “cocktail” of natural foods was used that included Omega-3 fish oil was used for it’s anti-viral efficiency, and cilantro, a popular herb that is known to remove heavy metals from the body. The mix did also contain amoxicillin, an antibiotic, but we know that antibiotics actually contribute to Candida overgrowth.

What is Caprylic Acid?

Caprylic acid is a saturated fatty acid. It’s found in coconut oil, palm oil, and some types of milk. In goat milk the content of Caprilic acid and two other fatty acids are 15%. Caprylic acid is recognized as an anti-aging, anti-cancern, anti-alzheimer’s, anti-infection tool. It also improves circulation. Since caprylic acid has a short chain length it can more easily penetrate fatty cell wall membranes, so it is great at fitting lipid-coated bacteria like Streptococcus.
